?1. “The Vietnam Brief” examines Vietnam's position in China, plus a strategy seen as a favorable investment destination due to proximity to China, coastlines and lower export tariffs imposed by free trade agreements. 11. During a recent working visit by a representative of Bremen, the Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) in Da Nang offered businesses in Bremen, Germany, investment opportunities in the seaport, logistics and information technology (IT) sectors.

12. Experts say Vietnam needs to develop appropriate strategies to promote the development of air logistics and tap its huge potential. Lê V???ng Qu?c, director of Gemix Vi?t Nam Joint Stock Company, which exports fresh fruit, said it is not easy to ship fresh produce to Switzerland because the country does not have seaports. Since there were no direct flights from Vietnam to Switzerland, his company had to transport through a third country.

13. In the first five months of this year, Vietnam exported nearly US$7 billion worth of timber and wood products, up 4.7% year-on-year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Friday.
